Itinerary:

After doing many 3 and 4 day tours from Ventoux to Alpe d'Huez since 2003 the idea was hatched  to attempt the ride in a single day.

In 2014 nine riders set off from Bedoin at 4am and after watching the stunning Ventoux sunrise we finally arrived on Alpe d'Huez at 7pm.

A stunning ride. One of the best days out on a bike you will ever have. With over 7000m of ascent and 265km through some challenging terrain this is not for the faint hearted.

Day 1. Arrival and collection from Marseille airport then a transfer to the Veloventoux guesthouse.

Day 2. A short leg stretcher ride then equipment check. Prepare kit and food for the big day.

Day 3. A short transfer of 30 minutes in the minibus to Bedoin for a 4am start. After a steady ascent we'll watch the sunrise on Mont Ventoux at approximatley 6am. Then we hit the road through the Drome department through the Pre-alpes before the 2nd difficulty of the day, the 1300m Col de Grimone. After the Col d'Ornon we descend into Bourg d''Oisans for a quick refuel to get up Alpe d'Huez for sunset.

Day4. Transfer back to Lyon airport.
