Vélo Ventoux Challenge

Highlights

  • Ventoux and Alpe d’Huez in the same day.
  • The unmissable Ventoux sunrise.
  • The Gorge des Gats.
  • The Col de Grimone.
  • Fully supported with on road guides and vehicle.
I really can't recommend Véloventoux highly enough. They are about 15km from the foot of Ventoux, so a great warm up, plus there are lots of other good routes from there round the mountain or along the Gorge de la Nesque etc. There are lots of places to eat around, I mean, it is France. But Vaison la Romaine is my favourite place to eat of an evening, and a stunning village to walk round.

Introduction

The ultimate Vélo Ventoux challenge – our very own creation! Watch the famous Ventoux sunrise then in the same day get to Alpe d’Huez before sunset.
After doing many 3 and 4 day tours from Ventoux to Alpe d’Huez since 2003 the idea was hatched  to attempt the ride in a single day.
In 2014 nine riders set off from Bedoin at 4am and after watching the stunning Ventoux sunrise we finally arrived on Alpe d’Huez at 7pm that very evening.
A stunning ride. One of the best days out on a bike you will ever have. With over 6500m of ascent and 265km through some challenging terrain this is not for the faint hearted.
