The organisation of this tour was amazing. The hotels, the distances each day, the food, the on road guiding - and the banter! Everything was perfect.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and shake-down ride

Arrive into Nice Airport, where morning and afternoon group transfers will be available for the short 45-minute journey to our hotel. Once settled in and bikes are ready, we’ll waste no time in getting our first taste of the Riviera.

Our opening ride takes us up the legendary Col de la Madone, a climb synonymous with professional cycling and the perfect introduction to the roads of the Côte d’Azur. We’ll stop for a well-earned coffee in the beautiful hilltop village of La Turbie before returning to the hotel.

A relatively short ride, but with around 1,000 metres of climbing, it’s a great way to loosen the legs and kick off the weekend.

Distance: 40 km
Climbing: 1,000 m

Day 2: Col du Turini

Today we head into the mountains for the biggest ride of the weekend and one of the great cycling experiences of the French Riviera.

The legendary Col de Turini is our main objective, climbing high into the Alpes-Maritimes on the twisting mountain roads for which this part of France is famous. Our route also takes in the Col de Castillon, with the option of adding the beautiful Col de Braus for those looking for an extra challenge.

With around 2,500 metres of climbing, this is a proper mountain day – spectacular roads, big views and a memorable day in the saddle.

Distance: 110 km
Climbing: 2,500 m

Day 3: Tour du Ventoux

Today is what the weekend is all about – Milan–San Remo.

We’ll ride east along the coast to Ventimiglia before crossing into Italy and joining the traffic-free cycle path that follows the Ligurian coastline past San Remo. We’ll leave the bike path at the foot of the Cipressa and find our spot to watch the women’s race tackle one of the decisive climbs of Milan–San Remo.

Once the women have passed, we’ll get back on the bikes and follow the race route towards the legendary Poggio. We’ll find our viewing spot on the climb and settle in to watch the men’s race come through, as the world’s best riders battle it out on the final and most famous climb of La Primavera.

After the race has passed, we’ll ride back along the Riviera to Menton – hopefully having witnessed a little piece of cycling history along the way.

Day 4: One Last Riviera Ride

After breakfast, we’ll begin our group transfers back to Nice Airport. For those with later flights, there’s time to squeeze in one final ride before heading home.

Depending on timings and how the legs are feeling, we’ll take on the Col d’Èze or return to the Col de la Madone for one last climb and a final dose of Riviera riding.

Then it’s back to the hotel, bikes packed and transfer to Nice Airport – the end of a long weekend of classic climbs, Mediterranean roads and unforgettable Milan–San Remo race action.
